Opening ceremony of the EU Twinning Project
On 17th of January 2023, the opening ceremony of the EU Twinning Project “Support to pension reform in Azerbaijan – Phase 2” will be held with the participation of Mr. Sahil Babayev, the Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Peter Michalko, the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Egidijus Navikas, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Martynas Šiurkus, the Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania, and other high-ranking officials, the members of Parliament, the representatives of the related sectors and international organizations.
The Twinning Project on the “Support to pension reform in Azerbaijan – Phase 2”, which started on 2nd of August 2022 and will last for 24 months, is a joint project between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Lithuania, funded by European Union.
The objective of the Project is to contribute to strengthening resilience of the pension system in Azerbaijan and to support the Government of Azerbaijan in ensuring and improving the sustainability of the pension system in line with European best practices.
