Inga Ruginienė: Fair Mobility and Equal Rights – Key Priorities for the Labour Market
On July 7–8, Minister of Social Security and Labour Inga Ruginienė participated in the informal meeting of the Employment, Social Policy, Health, and Consumer Affairs Council (on employment and social policy issues) held in Aalborg, Denmark.
During the meeting, ministers from EU member states discussed how to ensure fair labour migration within the EU and protect the rights of posted workers. They shared best practices related to the implementation of EU legislation on the free movement of workers and posting of workers. The discussion also covered member states' expectations regarding the Labour Mobility Package currently being prepared by the European Commission.
In this video, Inga Ruginienė, Minister of Social Security and Labour of Lithuania, emphasizes the pressing shortage of workers in Lithuania and the importance of fair labour mobility across Europe. Speaking at the informal meeting of employment ministers on 7 July 2025 in Aalborg, she highlights the need for joint decisions to address labour market challenges and stresses that the ultimate goal is equal jobs with equal rights for all.
