Inga Ruginienė

Minister of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania

Inga Ruginienė is the Minister of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania, having assumed office on 15 July 2026. 

She served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania in the 20th Government from 25 September 2025 to 14 July 2026. 

She holds a Master's degree in Labour Law from Mykolas Romeris University, a Master's degree in Public Health from Vilnius University, and a Bachelor's degree in Forest Management from Kaunas College of Forestry and Environmental Engineering. 

Inga Ruginienė previously served as Minister of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania in the 19th Government and has extensive leadership experience, having served as President of the Lithuanian Trade Union Confederation, Vice President of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Vice President of the Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC-PERC), and Chairperson of the Lithuanian Federation of Trade Unions of Forestry and Forest Industries. 

Since 2024, she has been a Member of the Seimas (Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania). 

In addition to her professional achievements, Inga Ruginienė is actively involved in social and voluntary activities. She has served as a first aid instructor and volunteer with the Lithuanian Red Cross Society and was a member of its Board from 2016 to 2019. She also served on the Board of Kaunas College of Forestry and Environmental Engineering from 2021 to 2023.
