Major special needs established for disabled people
2. Financial assistance measures. A special need for constant nursing (for children and persons under 24 (since childhood) 2.5 basic pensions, for other persons 1.5 basic pensions). A special need for constant care (assistance) (for children and persons under 24 (since childhood) 1 basic pension, for other persons 0.5 basic pensions). A special need for reimbursement of the costs of car acquisition and its technical adaptation (up to 32 MLS). A special need for reimbursement of transport costs (0.25 MSL).
Employment. Establishment of the need for professional rehabilitation services and payment of the professional rehabilitation allowance (for those who are covered under the Law on Sickness and Maternity Social Insurance) for those who are not covered: 2 basic pensions.
Utilities. The benefits of 20% of the MSL are paid to the disabled persons who raise children under 18 (full time students at general education schools, vocational, high or higher schools under 24) and are recognised as incapable for work and there are no family members capable for work. If a family has two or more disabled members incapable for work, the benefit is paid to one of the disabled members irrespective of the fact if any member of the family is capable for work.
Education. Financial assistance is provided to the disabled students:
- to meet their special needs: monthly benefits equal to 50 percent of the state social insurance basic pension;
- for students whose studies are partially state-funded or not funded: monthly benefits equal to 3.2 minimum standards of living approved by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.
Persons with special needs are provided with compensatory education equipment at education institutions and at home.
3. Social services. General and/or special social services are provided.
