Action Plan for the Promotion of Non-Discrimination
In order to foster respect for human beings, ensure the implementation of the provisions of the legislation establishing the principle of non-discrimination and equal opportunities, increase awareness of challenges faced by various groups because of their sex, race, nationality, language, origin, social status, religion, beliefs and opinions, disability, ethnic originand other identities, inform the public about the measures taken to promote equal opportunities and non-discrimination, strengthen inter-institutional cooperation in the field of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, the Action Plan for the Promotion of Non-Discrimination is in place in Lithuania. The action plan includes training and educational events on social inclusion and equal opportunities, as well as other activities.
The Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the action plan and its implementation measures. Other ministries, the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Agency for Youth Affairs and other institutions and bodies also participate in the implementation of the action plan.
